Data Analysis

Well last lesson we looked at Data analysis and we modeled a piece of analysis as a class for Hickling Broad EQI results. You should now have an idea of what you need to include in your initial analysis.

My EQI radar graph for Hickling Broad shows a mixed set of positive results. With 3 results clearly standing out as strong positive answers, these are Management which scored 3, Pollution which scored 4 and Litter which scored 5. The other 3 variables for Aesthetic Value, Diversity of wildlife and habitats and erosion scored 1,2 and 0 respectively. Litter scored the highest with a score of 5 this was because there was no litter visible at Hickling Broad there was also litter bins near to the visitor centre which will hopefully be well used another reason why this may be a positive score is the fact that Hickling Broad is a nature reserve and the people who visit this area will have a high level of respect for the landscape and the wildlife they visit and will thus not litter. Pollution was the second highest score with a 4 this means there was very little pollution (air, noise, water or land) visible at this site, there was possibly very little noise pollution as the reserve is located away form main transport links and also the people who visit want to observe wildlife and will therefore make little noise. Management also had a high positive result of 3 as there was lots of different management strategies visible, such as boardwalks, reed cutting, bird hides and Konik ponies and all of these appeared to be doing there jobs.

Overall all the results for Hickling Broad are positive and this reflected in the shape of the radar graph.
